Custom metal labels are small plates, lettering and medallions that carry your brand directly on the product. Placed on a jeans pocket, waistband, jacket sleeve or bag flap, they give a finished, premium look. Unlike textile labels, metal does not fade or fray and keeps its shape for the life of the product. Where metal labels are used
- Jeans and trousers – a plate on the back pocket, waistband or coin pocket, matched to metal buttons and rivets.
- Jackets and coats – slim lettering on the sleeve, a medallion on the pocket or a shield on the chest.
- Bags and wallets – metal labels for bags fixed with prongs or rivets in leather and heavy canvas.
- Knitwear, dresses and kidswear – small hearts, discs and charms on cuffs, hems or drawcords.
- Caps, belts and accessories – miniature plates that mark the brand in a small space.
Models on the sample cards
- Mini plates and hearts – slim bar and oval plates from about 17×6 to 36×6 mm with holes at both ends, hearts around 13×13.5 mm, arrows and squares; ideal for knitwear, shirts and kidswear.
- Medium plates and ovals – about 22×6 to 43×9 mm, oval and faceted plates with raised text, small 14 mm round charms and hearts on rings.
- Shields, medallions and squares – shields about 30×25 and 20×19 mm, round medallions of 22.5 and 30 mm, squares from 14×14 to 20×14 mm and a large script logo of about 54×12 mm.
- One plate, several finishes – a card showing the same model in four or five finishes, from about 20×5 to 44×13 mm, so you can compare gold, antique brass, copper, nickel and gunmetal side by side.
- Charms and figures – coins, hearts, letters, stars, wreaths and crowns on hanging rings.
- Cut-out lettering and vertical charms – logos cut along the letter outline in script or print, and vertical tags that hang from a seam or zip.

Some models have black, white or coloured enamel infill for a more legible logo; lettering can be raised or engraved.
Attachment
Most bar plates have a hole at each end and are stitched on – the easiest option for knitwear, shirts and light fabrics. Labels with prongs pass through fabric or leather and are bent on the inside, which suits denim, leather and bags. Medallions and shields can also be fixed with pins or rivets for higher loads, and charms hang on a ring from a seam, zip, cord or chain.
How to choose
- Match the finish to your hardware: antique brass and copper for denim and vintage looks, nickel and gunmetal for modern and sporty lines, light gold for womenswear.
- Keep the size in proportion: mini plates for cuffs and kidswear, medallions and lettering for jackets and bags.
- Pick the attachment for the material, and use enamel for fine detail or colour.
Durability
Plated finishes protect the metal from tarnishing in normal wear and washing. For stone- or enzyme-washed jeans, test a sample with the real treatment. Prong and rivet labels cannot come unstitched, which suits bags, backpacks and workwear.
